EMERGE is an event dedicated to contemporary performance that brings together ten of the most important Canadian and European artists in the discipline.

Among the most important gatherings of performance art ever mounted at the MAC, the event will offer a stimulating encounter between performing arts and visual arts highlighting the pluridisciplinary nature of the most tantalizing current practices.

Organized by Chantal Pontbriand and echoing the performance program, workshops, lectures, and exchanges will take place on weekday evenings. On Saturday, November 23, 2019 a two-part forum will bring together the public, artists, curators, art critics, and theorists from here and abroad. The forum will offer an opportunity to share thoughts on latest events and issues pertaining to performance art.
