Public Development Officer for educational services for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit audiences

Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Tours, the Public Development Officer will contribute to the production of educational activities designed for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit audiences, oversee the development of audiences for these activities, and ensure the smooth operation of activities.
As part of their duties, the Public Development Officer will:
- Participate in the development of educational activities designed for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit audiences;
- Contribute to the promotion of educational services designed for these audiences;
- Build contacts with organizations that work with these communities;
- Follow-up with organizations expressing interest in reserving these services, and oversee the logistical coordination of educational activities;
- Participate in welcoming groups;
- Contribute to the analysis, assessment, and evaluation of results from the educational services designed for these audiences;
- Contribute to training and raising awareness among staff, especially those in direct contact with these audiences;
- Perform all other tasks that ensure the progression and sustainability of the project.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Indigenous Studies, Art Education, Visual Arts, Social Work, or any other combination of relevant education and experience;
- A minimum of two years’ experience in cultural or social mediation leading to the required knowledge and skills for the job;
- Familiarity with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities;
- Very good knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to make complex information more accessible;
- Strong organizational, planning, and logistical skills;
- Ability to demonstrate rigor, judgment, and tactfulness;
- Interest in contemporary art, museum education, social inclusion, and customer service.
Work Schedule
14 hours/week
Salary
Based on the salary scale in effect.
- From $21.79/h to $40.13/h depending on experience
- Plus 11.12% (compensation of employee benefits) and 8% (vacation)
