INCLUSION IN ACTION
INCLUSION IN ACTION AT THE MAC: GIVE TO GET INVOLVED
Through its Inclusion in Action program initiated in 2018 with a grant from the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the MAC aims to make universal accessibility a reality, allowing all audiences to build and experience a special relationship with contemporary art and to use the Museum as a reference point and source of inspiration.
The Inclusion in Action program involves several types of activities through which participants can explore and engage with a cultural venue in a unique and highly creative way. The physical and social inclusion resulting from this audience diversity encourages reflection about respecting differences and promotes human interaction.
The program provided an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge of experts with lived experience – persons with disabilities –who were directly involved in developing an accessible museum experience, notably by welcoming smaller groups for the Workshop/Tour Combos. Taking a personalized approach when making reservations for these Combos ensures appropriate planning for tours and activities co-created in cooperation with organizations.
A BRIGHT FUTURE THANKS TO YOU!
Although the grant funding ended in March 2020, the MAC is continuing with its inclusivity initiatives and hopes to build on its accomplishments on a larger scale, both onsite and out in the community. We are thus appealing to individual donors and private partners to support this expansion until the MAC reopens in its enlarged and renovated building in 2025.
Your donation will benefit participants to have the chance to forge a special relationship with works of contemporary art that form part of Québec’s cultural heritage.
When you give, you are supporting our culture and promoting a fair and inclusive society.
