As part of the exhibition Françoise Sullivan and in connexion with the presentation of JAMS DO JAMS, the MAC invites you to a conversations with artists Dana Michel and Tracy Maurice on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 4 p.m.

Dana Michel is a choreographer and live artist based in Montreal. Her approach to dance invites us to deeply reflect on the notion of performative alchemy. She creates cross-disciplinary works inspired by her personal history, her future aspirations, present moments and current concerns as a way to generate a dynamic of centrifugal empathy with her audience. Dana Michel was awarded the Silver Lion for Innovation in Dance at the Venice Biennale in 2017 for her piece Yellow Towel. She is the first Visiting Dance Artist at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, and is associate artist at Par B.L.eux.

Tracy Maurice is a multidisciplinary artist who works in several mediums, including photography and video. Her research-based practice involves analog technologies inspired by special effects from early cinema, as well as science, nature and dance. She has worked as Creative Director for the band Arcade Fire, creating videos and live experimental content for the albums Funeral and Neon Bible.
